Yes we know we’ve been missing for longer than anyone would’ve liked, but things happen and well that leads no new posts. But, something big happened a few hours ago, the Filmfare Awards! It’s directed by RGV, so it can either suck or be awesome…we’re hoping it’s going to be awesome! Mr. B’s in it…Ritesh, who’s always good in every movie and it has huge list of brilliant supporting actors such as Paresh Rawal, Rajat Kapoor, Neetu Chandra, Gul Panag, Rajpal Yadav and many more.

Our blog started with a post about this movie and we’ve written about this film so many times…oh and don’t forget we almost got on the production team for MNIK’s San Francisco schedule! Even though we’re jinxed in every way possible when it comes to this movie, we’ll still watch it in the theater, now that the journey is about to come full circle. Uhh plus…Kajol and Shahrukh together again!

Really not a film we’d put in our “waiting” category because of a certain Mr. Reshammiya, but this one’s directed by Pooja Bhatt! We loved Pooja Bhatt’s “Paap” and have seen it too many times…it’s such a visual delight ;)

Cast: Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Manoj Bajpai, Arjun Rampal, Naseruddin Shah
Just look at the cast and you’ll see why we’re dying to watch this movie…that’s hardcore people! Nana’s back! The story also sound so interesting plus can’t wait to hear more Hindi dialogues from Katrina…

Other movies that we are looking forward to in the upcoming year are ‘Delhi Belly’ because it’s an Aamir Khan production, he always makes an excellent ‘product.’ ‘Hook Ya Crook’ because John is in it, but it’s already been delayed and that has us worried…just look up ‘Aashayein’ and you’ll see why. ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ because of Farhan. ‘Ayesha’ because Sonam and Abhay – that’s just cute! More reasons needed? Amazing clothes worn by Sonam and c’mon it’s Abhay Deol, he’s never done a bad film…okay lets not jinx that. ‘I Hate Love Stories’ because again we love Sonam and she’s opposite Imran Khan…plus the title is intriguing. ‘Anjana Anjani’ because really excited to see Ranbir and Priyanka together! ‘Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai’ is on this list only and only because of Lara, otherwise it looks like another piece of garbage. Okay our fellow Filmistanis…that’s enough for today! Tata!

We love that Karan took some pictures on the sets of “My name is Khan,” he’s currently shooting for the last schedule of the film.

One thing you should know about us, our minds are an epitome of optimism…hamara dimaag ek dum filmi happy ending crap se bhara hua hai, we’re always looking at the brighter side and thinking like the Hindi films we love, our life will eventually have a happily ever after like a Yash Chopra movie!

So our movie (hamari zindagi) began when we found out that My Name is Khan was being filmed in San Francisco. We did everything possible to get on the set of that film. It didn’t hurt that our education and work experience is completely relevant.

Long story short, we got an interview with Dharma! Let that sink in…we got an interview with Dharma!! OMFG!! DHARMA!! Karan Johar’s Dharma!! The interview went so well, we totally felt like we got the job…all the questions they asked we had answers to, combined with our experience…but it seems we were too positive. Looked into all these coincidences as a sign or something…it was meant to be, but nothing…nothing happened *tear* Karan!!! Kyun?!!

What the hell?! If it was Karan interviewing, we would’ve totally been hired…oh well, until next time! (Filmi mentality kicking in…nahin!!) How many people living in the Bay Area, hell all of the world, get the chance to say they’ve been interviewed by Dharma, Karan’s Dharma. We’ll just try again and again and again, until Karan doesn’t have a choice but fall in love with us and hire us! So there…happily freakin’ ever after!

On another relevant note…the production team and Shahrukh are in SF right now, obviously! They were spotted shooting in front of Westfield, the one by the Powell St. Bart station…how many times have we been there and why weren’t we the ones who took these pictures…hamare saath aise kyun hota hai…kyun Karan kyun?!

“How terrible! That’s the second time he’s been hurt on this shoot. He must be in pain and this will majorly hold up his upcoming films and the promotions for ‘New York’. First the flu, and now this! John’s going through a bad patch!! If you have read his column today, you will know how excited he sounded about the workshop for Abbas’ film, and about “New York”. Zoya Akhtar plans her second film and rumor has it that she’ll be casting Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan in the leading roles…now that’s what you call casting!

Saif and Vivek were almost handcuffed in New York while shooting for their film “Qurbann.”

Karan Johar’s birthday party was a good day to forget all enmity, Shahrukh apologized to Aishwarya and apparently the two are now best friends.

But that is behind us now because we’re finally done with school…for a long time! As Shammi Kapoor would say, “Yaaahooo!!”

And now for some recent Filmistan news:

Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta were recently seen at an IPL auction meet. On a more important note, Shahrukh is still not over his scarf obsession.

Rekha is ready to launch her nephew, who’s making his Filmistan debut with Khalid Mohammed. On an even more interesting note: the nephew is born and brought up in San Francisco. Matlab hamara padosi hai*, and we don’t know him? What kind of world is this?

The recession is hitting Filmistan and apna Akki is saying that the top stars in the industry will have to take pay-cuts.

Like many before her, Katrina Kaif stole our idea. It seems she heard our conversation. It’s too similar to be a coincidence.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production “Chenab Gandhi” is delayed because John Abraham has been roped in to play a role that was supposed to be played by Harman Baweja earlier.

Two biggies are destined for release on the same day, August 14 – “London Dreams” and “Blue” – out of which we’re really looking forward to Blue because Lara Dutta (woohoo!) and Akshay Kumar are in it!
